Natalia Marshalkovitch is media analyst and journalist with more than 15 years of professional experience. She currently works as Senior Programme Coordinator at Free Press Unlimited in the Netherlands. She has worked in Belarus, Poland, Belgium and France and advised the European Endowment for Democracy on its 2015 Feasibility Study on Russian-language Media Initiatives. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Journalism from Columbia University.

Prof. Dr. Giorgi Khubua. President for Research, Steinbeis University Berlin. Giorgi Khubua is a German professor of Georgian origin. For years he has been working on topics such as the development of a common Caucasian identity based on the example of Europe for the most promising path to lasting peacekeeping.

MS. ANGELINA KARIAKINA
Angelina Kariakina is a Ukrainian journalist and editor. Currently working as the editor-in-chief of news at Ukrainian Public Broadcaster. Cofounded Public Interest Journalism Lab – interdisciplinary coalition of partners, including the Arena Programme at the London School of Economics, Kharkiv Institute of Social Research, and Lviv Media Forum. She is a former editor-in-chief at the independent media project Hromadske. Co-authored several investigative documentaries about Euromaydan events, Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia.

Со-основательница Лаборатории журналистики общественного интереса – междисциплинарной коалиции партнеров, включая программу Arena Лондонской школы экономики, Харьковский институт социальных исследований и Львовский медиа-форум. Бывшая главная редакторка независимого медиа-проекта Hromadske. Соавторка цикла документальных расследований о событиях Евромайдана, а также украинских политзаключенных в России.
Advisory Board Decision of December 2020
The media competition for the journalists from Georgia and Ukraine to reward the best Migrant Feature Story took place in November 2020.
Out of 10 publications, written in Georgian, Russian and Ukrainian language, the Advisory Board chose the 3 best stories. The Advisory Board is composed of journalists and migration experts from Georgia and Ukraine. In their examination an Advisory Board used a list of criteria of the selection is based on the criteria such as ” topic’s relevance to the audience”, “professional standards of accuracy of the source” and “impartiality”, and “good and clear structure of the article” Using social-friendly formats that could engage the audience and help the story to travel within the region also were another plus.
Each work was evaluated on its own merits, with a maximum of 8 scores.

Advisory Board Decision of November 2020
In the frame of 2020 Media Migration Labs Project, supported by the German MFA, the media competition for the journalists from Georgia to reward the coverage of migration and issues related to the vulnerable groups took place in October 2020. During this time 20 applications in Georgian and Russian languages were received. Of these, 5 were selected by the Expert Council that includes the professional journalists, editors and experts in migration.
The Jury examined the applications in line with the list of criteria, based on the topic’s relevance to the audience and to the general idea of the competition, on the professional standards of accuracy of the source and impartiality. Good and clear article’s structure and style had also been taken into account. Using the social-friendly formats that could engage the audience and help the story to travel within the region also were a plus.
Each work was evaluated as an independent work, with its own rating with 5 points at maximum. We appreciate the announcement of the list of the winners. We have 5 pieces from Georgia.

During this time 52 applications in English, Georgian, German, Russian and Ukrainian languages were received. Of these, 18 were selected by the Expert Council that includes the professional journalists, editors and experts in migration.
