Within the seminar “Workshop Knowledge Production: Decolonial and Indigenous Research Methods. An insight into decolonial-indigenous (feminist) approaches to academic research” in the summer semester 2020 at Humboldt University Berlin, Christina Riek, student in the Master’s programme in Central Asian Studies, spoke with Olga Gulina, the Director of RUSMPI, about her research approaches and the importance of decolonial research in Central Asia. Olga Gulina describes the importance to be aware of one’s own position in research in general and she gave insights into terminological difficulties and how to deal with them. She lists prerequisites that are important for successful decolonial research and gives advice for upcoming research projects.”
